For anyone that does not need hook-ups in the Toad River area there are several excellent large double-ended pullouts north of Toad River. The first one is about 6 miles north and is across the road from Folded Mountain. SPent the night there last night.
Roads are in pretty good shape with some rough spots coming in to Toad River. No problem driving the speed limit.
Today was Toad River to White Horse. Had a stop planned for Liard Hot Springs but when I saw how full the overflow parking lot was and remembered that today is Victoria Day we decided not to stop. Again the roads are mostly in good shape with some rough spots in the mountainous areas. Have not seen a temporary frost heave sign that was not accurate and happy to say all seemed to be marked. (Be aware!)
The bison herd is still scattered from Muncho Lake to almost Watson Lake. We had six different sightings of black bear today by the side of the road.
Cheapest fuel was at Contact Creek. ($1.37) If you need fuel, stop and buy some petrol from Richard. He is a Florida boy that could use your help! He said this was the coldest winter he has seen in 20+ years. Minus 62 one morning!!!
If anyone is staying at Pioneer RV Park in Whitehorse look us up in spot 58. We'll be here for a couple of days. They offer a $.03 per liter discount on fuel for their guests.
