Some people refer to these towns (especially Summersville) as "speed traps", but I respectfully disagree. In the built-up areas where there are traffic lights, the speed limit is reduced from 65 mph to 50 mph, not unreasonable IMHO. Just stay under the 50 mark and you'll be fine.
Using Rt. 19 instead of going through Charleston on the tolled WV Turnpike saves many miles and some money as well. There a two tolls at the south end of Rt. 19 just before I-77, but they aren't expensive.
