We ran this route on our way up to Anchorage from west Georgia about 3 months ago with our moho and toad. I think its good road with spectacular scenery. Long way between stops so keep an eye on fuel- not a problem but just be aware of your needle and where the next burg with fuel is.
We split the run from Rawlins up to Yellowstone into 2 days, stopping in Dubois which we really enjoyed
The only downer about that route for us was there was a good bit of loose gravel on the road surface (late summer). As we approached the Teton's we caught three rocks on two separate occasions west of Dubois from semis passing us in the other direction. The first passing semi and flying rock dinged it but it was repairable. The next tanker passed us heading southeast as we approached the Tetons and hit us with 2 rocks at once, one of which cracked the windshield with a 2 foot long crack. That got us a new windshield. I kind of chalk it all up to bad luck as we ran the rest of the 12,000 mile trip without another hit.
All that said I will definitely travel that road again. And I can't wait to do it again!
PS There are a few significant grades as you get west of Dubois moving towards the teton's, but we had no problem with our 31 foot gasser towing the dolly and Focus
