- From which direction are you coming from?
Which direction are you going? - HarvardExplorerThe city bypass route covers all quadrants EXCEPT S to W (or W to S).
To go S to W you must take S to E to N to W. - richardsrExplorersorry about that enblethen, comming from sweetgrass, mt going north
- I would stay on Can 2. Go through midday!
- pianotunaNomad IIIBe sure to fill up with fuel before you leave Montana.
- pianotunaNomad IIIYou can avoid Calgary altogether by taking highway #23 through Vulcan (be sure to stop to see the space ship landing pad there). It is a two lane road but in good condition.
- FULLTIMEWANABEExplorerHwy 2 is also known as the Deerfoot in city limits, if you avoid it during rush hours morning and night (albeit since the oil collapse it takes us a quarter of the time it used to during rush hours!) to get through. By choice I always use the Deerfoot Hwy 2, heading North and South. Even done it with 37ft A Class towing a horse box when huge construction on. Three Lanes plus, but can be stationary on occasion during rush hours. 10.30am to 2pm is a breeze, as is 10pm to 6.30am, 2.30pm on Fridays she starts to build up during nicer weather as locals take off early for weekend.
- richardsrExplorerwhat about 201, is it toll road? i am 40 ft and f150 toad. sincerly richard
- Wrong_LaneExplorerRoute 2 to 201 (Stoney Trail) and 201 north until it meets route 2 again north of the city will bypass Calgary completely, but -- why?
Calgary is definitely worth a stop for a day or two. Great world class city with a western flair.
Tolls? None
Safe Travels - richardsrExplorerthanks guys, this gives me some options. many thanks, richard
