As stated above......... get to I-287 and take the Tappan Zee bridge over the Hudson River. You can use the the Garden State Parkway and I suggest you do so. Some of the older bridges on the Parkway are arched. When the road was widened this reduced clearance in the extreme right lane under some of these bridges. You will be fine using the GSP.
