I think the reason most cross out west is the Canadian fuel prices, they are higher. We paid U$7.20 a gallon of gasoline on our trip north through Britsh Columbia to the Yukon. That said when we got off the Alaska Marine Highway at Prince Rupert BC in 2013 we took the Trans-Canada Highway to Kenora ONT and cut south to International Falls MN. Beautiful drive and much to see along the way. I would love to go from coast to coast in Canada, wide open spaces and good highways along the route as far as we traveled.
