Rawlins is out of the way to get to the town of Jackson.
From I-80 take 191 at Rock Springs to Hoback Junction and north into Jackson.
If you want to bypass Jackson and enter Grand Teton Nat'l Park from Rawlins you could do that by taking 287 toward Dubois.
Neither route has any high passes - good for RVers.
