A good while ago, when the kids were "Kids" we used to just plug in the locations of the Local Ski resorts - Usually good mountain scenery and just Beautiful Trees.
Now we do the same thing in Colorado and it has never let us down.
Lake Placid is a pretty nice place to visit,
