Rt. between St. Pete's and Myakka State Park FL.

Refining a road trip at the end of April. I'd like to stay off the interstate so can someone suggest a route that is scenic and things to see that stays off of 275/75 between St. Pete's and Myakka Sta...

Traffic in Sarasota is TERRIBLE. I don't even like to drive it anytime. If you take 301 south you'll go through downtown Sarasota where it's a 4 to 6 lane road with traffic lights at every corner.
