We took our first 5th into Mexico a few years ago - registered to husband - didn't return the permit - and then sold it in Canada. We now have a different 5th, and are returning to Mexico in January ...

Not completely true - there was a raid by AGACE agents. Those boats that were impounded have now been released. Most had permits - IMPORTACIÓN TEMPORAL, just were not prominently displayed. Paperwork issues abound down here.
Thanks to Napoleonic Law, the basis of Mexican jurisprudence, one is guilty unless proven innocent.
