RV registration

We took our first 5th into Mexico a few years ago - registered to husband - didn't return the permit - and then sold it in Canada. We now have a different 5th, and are returning to Mexico in January - would it be OK to have the registration in two names (spouse/spouse) or better to have it just in my name. I know you can't have two RV permits, but wondering if anyone has experience with this. It's less $$ for us to leave the new fifth in spouse/spouse vs just me.
  • Personally I'd call the folks in Mexico for their opinion...which is the only one that will count. With all the permit issues and seizures down there, I'd make sure all my tees were crossed and eyes dotted...I wouldn't want the Mexican Government to seize my rig for permit violations like the others.....just sayin....Dennis
  • Our first 10 year TIP was in one name. We made the mistake of selling one in the US while it still had a TIP in Mexico. Tried and tried, and still haven't managed to cancel the TIP. The new moho is in the other name. Rest assured, we'll figure it out this time.
We hope/suspect, that when the first 10 year moho permits start to expire, things will change, and make it easier.
  • Our motorhome is registered in both names (B.C.) but the permit is only in one name and there was no issue about the second name on the registration. That being said the motorhome permit is in my name and every year I get a permit for the tow also in my name so in fact I have 2 permits - 1 10 year and one 180 day and it has never been a problem.
