Gil,
My big problem here is that I don't know what and where you want to go/see/do. There is too much to see without even crossing the mountains. Unfortunately, out good collection is all about USA location and things, but there must be the same for Canada. Even out Ontario and Quebec books are from AAA. Before you buy anything, try a local CAA office. Our AAA has all kinds of guide books. It may be less expensive to buy a year's membership just for the guide books and maps.

I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for just yet. I was hoping to find a few travel books geared towards RVers but there just seem to be anything. It seems like what I'll end up getting are some more generalized books on travel around the US and what to see.
It's funny that there are lots and lots of books on how to buy an RV, how to maintain one and how to full-time not really along the lines of what I want. Since we'll be towing a TT, we don't want to have to do a lot of driving all the time to get to places because of the cost of gas, it can be tiring and it can eat up a lot of time. Some of the things we'll be able to visit will depend on where campgrounds are located. We'd be staying in full-service CGs like Thousand Trails, Passport America, Coast-Coast, etc. and no dry or Walmart camping.
I *think* I'm looking for a sort of road trip guide of places of interest to visit; areas to visit to take in a bit of the local culture, the history and the scenery; recommended events; places to avoid; when to visit - that sort of thing. Don't want to mistakenly end up somewhere that's not safe, in a crowded city towing a TT, etc.
I've been up and down the west coast many times over the years and a few times to eastern Wa. and now it's time to start thinking about other areas of the US. Doesn't matter if it's upstate New York, Louisiana, Tennessee or the Mid-west, much of what we know about other areas of the US is from what we get in movies, on TV shows or the news so it's not easy to figure out recommended to go and what to see. Don't want to go to highly crowded places unless it's something really worth visiting. Some popular tourist attractions as well as scenic drives. Route 66 sounds interesting, at parts of it. I love old buildings and historical things. It would be nice to get to a historic/vintage car race at somewhere like Watkins Glen or Road Atlanta in Ga.
I'm going to a bookstore today to see what I can find. I spent some time on Amazon last night and found a few possibilities. Didn't see anything I liked much on the RV bookstore site.
Thanks for all the suggestions so far!
