RV travel book suggestions?

Having a hard time trying to think of things for DW this Xmas and thought I might try and find a nice book or two on RV travel in the US, if there are any. I'm interested in finding something that would cover the entire US from east to west coast and what some interesting areas would be to visit when you are somewhat constrained by towing a TT behind you.

I know we can't ever see it all but would love to see the deep south and up through North and South Carolina and up towards New York state. Route 66 sounds like it would be fun and I've been reading up on it lately. What would be some events, happenings and cool places that are a must see?

I'm retired and DW will be in a few years and then it will be time to do some serious RV-ing. It would be so nice to visit places that we only hear about and see on TV. If anyone knows of any good books I'd appreciate hearing.

  • Not exactly about destinations, but I picked up the "Guide to Scenic Highways and Byways" by National Geographic. If you are not a race along an interstate to get there quick kinda person, it has hundreds of scenic drives all over the US. It has maps, photos and detailed descriptions and points of interest along the routes. I have already worked in a half dozen into our big trip next year. They also have another one covering US National Parks that looks quiet interesting too... maybe my next splurge at the book store...
