As long as you are going all the way to Disneyland, I would try to spend some time at the beaches in southern Calif, especially North San Diego County (an hour south of Anaheim). The water and air are at their warmest at that time of year. There are kid-friendly beaches -- try Carlsbad.
The coasts of Oregon and Washington are very lovely, but they are a lot like BC. The California beaches are not like BC at all!
Full disclosure -- I live near the beach in Orange County, near Disneyland. We surf all year. And when we vacation, we like Canada and the Northwest the best because it is so different -- cool and green!
