San Carlos to Mazatlan Discussion
I'm going to open a real can of worms, but hopefully help some.
About 7 years ago, we were leaving Mazatlan, and a friend wanted to tag along. He said that he "always" went to San Carlos in a day. Ok, we went along with that.
484 miles later, we arrived, 10, 11 hours. For some reason after that, we made it our standard. Drive like hell, get there.
We are serious travelers in Mexico, we aren't old, have a medium sized moho, and go everywhere. We developed an attitude of, "Why not drive like hell on that stretch? We've seen it all!"
We don't drive 500 miles in the US, so what were we doing?
Did the run 10 days ago, had to pump up two different tires along the way, still did it in 11 hours, got to Maz, it was HOT, it wasn't fun.
We've decided that we aren't going to do it anymore. It's hard on us, the dogs, the vehicle. There are places to stay, maybe not beautiful, but just fine.
Have we all lost sight of the fun of traveling???
