San Diego to Desert Hot Srings

I always avoid Moreno Valley. Getting off in Menifee is what I'd recommend. I actually use Scott Road, but there was a detour in my preferred route last time going thru Hemet that was very poorly done. Currently there is road construction between Menifee & Moreno Valley. Gets a little tight in some areas for my comfort, even in our toad!

What I do is Google Map the route and then do a street view to actually see the road. I also use a Motor Carrier Road Atlas (for truckers) to check the route. If it's good enough for an 18 wheeler it'll be good enough for me (well most of the time, lol).

That is the cross country route but there is some school of thought that it is better to stay on 215 up to Moreno Valley and pick up 60 over to Banning.

Some though don't like 60 because it has some rolling up and down grades and quite a bit of truck traffic.
