San Diego to Tijuana & Ensenada and back to S.D.
In San Diego take I-5 South, at the border there is a right hand turn in to the Mexican Customs and Immigration area, then you make a left turn into the boots, try to stay on the right side, when exiting again keep right you will take the exit onto a bridge that crosses the Tia Juana river, be careful the cement is rough then you will be on a road next to the river, there is a small curve to the left and you will see a hill stay on the right lane.
Crest the hill and there is a left hand turn and a down hill carefull it is a bit steep, at the bottom there is a right turn off you will take it, be careful as these curves are sharp and not banked correct, you will merge onto the Tijuana-Ensenada road, stay on the center lane, you are going up a hill then there is a small curve to the left and a down hill and another up hill, continue on the center lane, after the crest there is a left curve on a slight down hill, take the curve left, the right lane is the exit to Playas de Tijuana.
You are now on the toll road to Ensenada on the return you will again be on this road, continue on the center lane and do not turn at all even if the signs say and point San Diego, you will be on Segunda Avenida or Calle Benito Juarez, stay on the center lane at the stoplight it will become 2 lanes, continue through down town TJ.
When the Avenue turns to a one way street move over to the next to the left lane, and stay there when you see the over pass stay on the same lane, the signs pointing to San Diego are misleading as to which lane to take, keep going with the concrete barriers on your right this leads you onto the over pass and straight to the San Ysidro crossing and back to the cheerful waiting CBP agent.
