Yeah, in summer it's cooler on Pacific and warmer further East, but this is in summer. In winter, after sunset it's warmer near water (doesn't matter Pacific or Cortez side), and cooler in desert. 100ft from water can make a difference. Very cold in desert in the night, in winter. In daytime it's just the opposite, warmer in desert and cooler near water, no matter what coast. In San Felipe should be weather similar to Bay de LA, i.e. not too warm in winter.
Perfect climate? There is no such thing. Places that are warm in winter, like Bahamas, are either hot or humid or rainy in summer (lots of bugs too). Switch between the continents if you can afford. Most people can't.
