No useful comment for the roads, but be sure to make a reservation for the campground inside the park. The Park is wonderful.
We were there in May, didn't make a reservation for the park and ended up staying at the only RV park within a decent driving distance. Never paid so much for so little. The place is a dump and after charging you $50 per night, they want $2 for an 8 minute shower.
