Section of Interstate 10 collapses eastern California
According to AP a section of I10 near Blythe Ca has collapsed and the road is closed

Possible detour heading west would be to exit I10 at Blythe and take 95 north to 62. Its a great 2 lane road but NOT to be done with an empty gas tank. I've never taken the 177 out of Desert Center but I'll bet that is how they are routing traffic.
Coming east, exit the 10 at Hwy 62 Yucca Valley. Knowing Calif, they will have it open quickly.
