Seldovia used to be the place to go for the 4th of July, If you are close to Homer at that time I would jump on the ferry and go. The trip over by ferry (small) is a really good trip, lots of things to see if you haven't travelled much by water. Seldovia is a pretty small town and you can walk it pretty easy, they also have bikes for rent if you want to travel a little easier or farther out of town. If your time allows, see it all cause it may be awhile before you get back up here!
