- TequilaExplorerStreaming in Mexico RV parks is a bad thing to do, slows service down for everyone. I do download TV shows occasionally, but I do it overnight when no one is using the net. You can use a service like https://www.eztv.ag, but you should use a VPN, as it is technically illegal. Apart from that, I buy knock off movies at markets. Generally, I don't come to Mexico to watch TV. Set up your PVR at home for when you get back. I use satellite radio to keep up with news. If you are a sports fans, you can listen to games and use your imagination.

Are those footprints available yet? Footprints for DTV and Dish are available and they don't cover a lot outside of the 48 borders with the exception of Alaska. The Alaska portion covers a significant part of Western Canada. I had reception through my Alaska trip.
almcc: That is fine for subscribers in Canada but it is my understanding that the footprint of the new satellites does not cover very much of the USA. Just the North. There are or were thousands of people getting the Shaw signal in Mexico and the Southwest USA. They will be SOL. My Mexico service was disconnected by Shaw a few years ago as the account had Mexico as one of my locations!

And Shaw may have to upgrade customers. DTV is dropping SD transmission in 2019 and upgrading customers with SD only equipment. This actually started years ago. - almccExplorer

Actually, there is only one new satellite, the other two older ones aren't ranged, we are in Tucson right now and are locked onto both of them. It will be interesting to see what happens if they drop both older sats as the present aiming instructions require a point to one of the older sats, even with the new three sat LNB - moishehExploreralmcc: That is fine for subscribers in Canada but it is my understanding that the footprint of the new satellites does not cover very much of the USA. Moisheh - almccExplorerIf Shaw does pull the plug on the older sats they will have a problem with a lot of their customers with old receivers who haven't installed the new LNB. They may have to offer a free upgrade to the new receivers/lnb like Bell did when Bell changed sats way back. At that time they would re-aim or give you a month or two of free service if you re-aimed yourself.
- moishehExplorerVPN's are iffy. They get shut down all the time. You wont be able to stream without one. Shaw can see that you are on an American or Mexican server. But you will have another problem. Streaming eats data. Canadian Internet providers do not usually have real unlimited data. Your Campground either wont allow streaming or the internet is too slow for streaming. You could get your internet from an American provider. ATT wont give you any service. But the Telcos will sell to Canadians. Canadians may have to bite the bullet and forget about watching Hockey Night in Canada!
- robatthelakeExplorerWe are near Palm Springs most of Our HD Stations have stopped working or come and go !
The most recent article that I have read indicates that Shaw will shut down the Two Old Birds in 2019. We had heard as early as the end of April ,but that would appear to be sooner than the most recent report.
We will All know the Day it comes to an end, meanwhile don’t spend money that you can’t afford to lose on an uncertain Future of Shaw Direct Service ! - snarleyExplorerWe are in Las Vegas and are still getting most of the Hi Def StarChoice channels eg 002,that could be on the third satellite. We know that we will lose these at about San Carlos Mexico , but have always had the standard channel as far South as Mazatlan. (22 Degrees Latitude). I guess April will tell us if Shaw is going to completely abandon the older satellites. Just have to wait and see.

I've used VPN with varying results in Mexico trying to watch Netflix or Amazon Prime... It changes all the time but for the most part IP changers / VPN IP addresses get detected on a regular basis. This means that Netflix, for example might detect you are not actually where you claim to be and deny service.
This spring we had good results with Amazon Prime in Mexico, next year who knows... There are specific locations you can use for an IP changer that seem to work for a while. - Canuck_TravelleExplorerm
