This is no longer a rumour. Shaw will no longer be available in moist of the USA. The new satellite has a different footprint. OK until April 2019. But if you have decent Internet Shaw can be streamed.Moisheh

45th parallel is Dexter Maine - not very far south of the Canadian border.I've used VPN with varying results in Mexico trying to watch Netflix or Amazon Prime... It changes all the time but for the most part IP changers / VPN IP addresses get detected on a regular basis. This means that Netflix, for example might detect you are not actually where you claim to be and deny service. This spring we had good results with Amazon Prime in Mexico, next year who knows... There are specific locations you can use for an IP changer that seem to work for a while.
