MEXICOWANDERER

Russ, your pain is the Copper Canyon's gain. There just isn't any high mountain ranges between the Pacific Ocean and the mountains of Sonora. Where updrafts occur downpours result. But drenching rain can fill depressions in the Sierras and allow grain to grow and cattle to fatten.
Mexico's chronic problem is basic non engineering and fraudulent underfunded highway construction and drainage. We are fortunate to live on a prominence. Rock and all directions point downhill.
This storm is definitely going to impact highways in the state of Sonora. The flat to the ground highway around Hermosillo is going to flood. The thought of using highway funds to elevate roadways makes a corrupted official groan in pain.
