The tourist info centre sells slabs of wood suitable for making a sign. They can also provide a hammer and nails. I'm not aware of any sign makers there.
We made ours from a slab of firewood, "branded" with our town's name, made around the campfires we had each night on the way to Watson Lake.
Here's the guys attaching it to the post in 1997. You can also see the wide variety of signs folks put up.
