Oh yeh....we remember those and yes, they work well. We made quite a number of circles before we found our correct exit!
I've seen semi trucks using roundabouts in the U.S. without problems. That's why the center is gradually slanted. They use it to make their turns.
Roundabouts are so much more efficient than stop lights.
