Sioux Falls, SD to Nappanee, IN

Looking for best route and AVOID Chicago area? Would prefer staying off Interstates as much as possible but know it's not totally avoidable. Any great campgrounds along the way? Need to be in Nappanee towards end of May. Thanks!

    US24 to US31 looks to be a good choice. What does that mean "really rough" - have you traveled in California lately? :-)

    Just follow US Highways then pickup US24 at Peoria. Then north on US31 to Nappanee. Last time we were up that way the roads were really rough.
