We've never had a problem sleeping on our visits to Alaska, and we've always just tented it. I guess we were so active and busy during the day, our bodies were just ready for some rest.
The time we most observed the late sunset was in Anchorage. We'd gone out to eat at the Snow Goose Restaurant and had to wait a long time for a table on the deck. By the time we'd finished eating, I got up to leave and realized it was well after 10:00 p.m. and I still had my sunglasses on! The view of Mt. McKinley in the evening glow was awesome.
