I was stationed near the arctic circle in the Air Force and worked shifts. I remember walking outside at 2:00 a.m. and it was still light enough to read. In the winter when I worked days I never saw the sunshine. I worked in a windowless command post. It was dark when I got to work and dark when I left to walk home.
