We took a cruise and train tour to Alaska about seven or eight years. We were not bothered at all by mosquitoes. Two or three years later we drove our fifth wheel to Alaska. There were some mosquitoes in and around bushes and trees in some campgrounds, but they were no problem. Last year we drove our coach to Alaska. The mosquitoes were very bad in most campgrounds in Alaska whether we were near the ocean or inland. The DEET repellant and hats with netting were sold out everywhere. It was not good. But that should not stop anyone from making the trip. Just bring the proper gear and hope you don't need it.
