South America??
Has anyone actually RV-ed in S. America seeing as this sub-forum has S. America in the subject? Would you rent an RV there, or somehow ship one there? My bucket list has a visit there, but not very...

Yes, disregard the negative comments. As a single woman I went to Ecuador (Galapogos Islands, Quito), Peru, Argentina (Buenos Aires) and surrounding area), Venezuala(Caracas) Columbia.(Cartegena) and surrounding area and would go back in a flash.
As a matter of fact, I remember wandering around Lima, Peru when a young man came up to me and told me my backpack was open and to please close it. I don't carry anything I am not willing to lose so no problem but he was concerned that my property was safe.
If I listened to all the people that told me all the negative things about solo travel, my life would be so much less.
I would love to go by RV, and I hope you go so I can follow along until I get my chance.
From my observations taking buses and cars, the roads wouldn't be the problem as much as finding places to park but I imagine that if you are all set up with solar, there would be lots of beautiful places to go.
