South Carolina Welcome Centers and Rest Areas

NC says no overnight parking and stays of 4 hours or less. But there are rest areas (one on each side of I-77 near mile marker 39/40) and I can tell you that people do stay overnight for longer than the 4 hrs. I will pass by on my way to work at night and often see an RV there (sometimes with a slide or two out). About 10 or 11 hours later on my way home, the same one is still sitting there. The highway is patrolled by highway patrol all the time in that area. So they must not say much about it.
