Steve, since you're staying at Yosemite Pines, your best route is 50,88,49 and 120. That said, IMHO, you still won't enjoy the trip. Most of these folks saying it's an ok drive may not have noticed you will be almost as long as I am @ 65'. I haven't checked the maps but I'm not sure your rig will be allowed on Hwy 49...you should check with the California Highway Patrol before committing to that route. I know I'm not allowed on portions of it.
You'll miss all the fun on 120 without the trailer behind you, but that's ok. You'll see when you get there.
If you're looking for a great campground off Hwy 88 try the Jackson Rancheria on Dalton Rd. You'll see the huge sign once you get off the mountain. Their fuel is usually the least expensive in the area and they have a drive thru car wash for your trailer if you need it....
