- AZ_MikeExplorerIt's not the violence e that's the issue, it is how the Mexican government utilized the military and their weaponry in a tourist community. And as stated in the FIRST post: I would stay out UNTIL the air clears. Do you not expect any retaliation? I know if the same was done in Sedona you would not catch me there for a few weeks for sure! As for those that seem it ok to make personal attacks at me for posting up to date warning of CURRENT actions being taken, you might want to read the rules of the forum.
- briansueExplorerHi AZ Mike,
I know you have missed a lot of the news in the US so here is just a brief look at history in recent years.
There are a great many lists of killings in the US. From the FBI to the US Department of Justice – the lists go on and on. Below are some websites showing just a few – mass murderers and serial killers. These lists are way too long to post here.

The silly face thing shows up because I guess when you type : and then M you get the face???
http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/16/us/20-deadliest-mass-shootings-in-u-s-history-fast-facts/
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/09/16/mass-killings-data-map/2820423/ . . . . 232 Mass Killings in the US from 2006 to 2013 listed here.
Instead of leaving bodies on the side of the road Jeffrey Dahmer kept them in his refrigerator and John Wayne Gacy buried 33 in his basement. Many many more can be found. - briansueExplorerUS Military never kills innocents in the US???
Fort Hood Massacre - 13 dead - 30 wounded
Timothy McVeigh - Oklahoma City - 150 dead - 500 wounded - mostly women and children
If anyone looks back and remembers some facts there are lots more.
Then the non-military . .
Aurora movie theater and Columbine in Colorado
Virginia Tech - 30+ dead
Newtown, CT - 22 kids killed
Are you kidding me Mike??? Do you not read the news?? - navegatorExplorerOK let me see if this makes sense
I go to the mall----------------------I get shot
Send the kids to school---------------they get shot
Go to a movie-------------------------we get shot
Get chased and stoped by the LAPD-----get shot
OOOhh! yeaa that's here in the States

Gosh a shooting, that never happens in the US or Canada.
You are correct! the military NEVER shoots civilians on US or Canadian soil.. And we don't leave the dead on the side of the roads for all so see. What's your point? - TequilaExplorerGosh a shooting, that never happens in the US or Canada.
- old_guyExplorerdon't worry, I won't get any closer than Yuma.
- daveB110ExplorerHaving been recently there at Sandy Beach, in an RV, I would not want to "stay indoors" until things clear up. A bullet could go through both walls and anything in between!
- Talleyho69ModeratorYou are right. Border areas all over the world are almost separate countries, on both sides, IMHO. So we cross, going either way at ANY border in a manner that allows us to get a decent distance away before we stop for the night!!
- robatthelakeExplorerRocky Point is too close to the USA. Border!
