- pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
I'd take the Yellow Head highway for that route. It is a good condition 2 lane highway. If you enjoy going to a spa there is a lovely one near Watrous (Manitou Beach). It adds a scant 75 kilometers to the trip. There is a regional full service campground there. Yorkton still has an annual film festival. I'm not sure of the dates. - Jacaroo45ExplorerAppreciate the feedback - Good thing there's only one Winnipeg (in Manitoba Province not Alberta Province as I incorrectly posted) and most folks understood what I was looking for!!!
Again THANK YOU - netjamExplorerI guess it depends on what you want in a campground (fuel will be no problem). I have gone both ways and like full service campgrounds with lots of room for a 40' fiver. Campgrounds that I like really don't exist on 16. If you go on 1 to Regina then north to Saskatoon you can stay in Brandon, MB (3 campgrounds) Regina, SK (again multiple choices) and Saskatoon. Lots of folks would go non stop Winnipeg to Saskatoon so then it won't matter.
- Jack_Diane_FreeExplorerGood luck with that. Winnipeg is in Manitoba not Alberta.
- JaxDadExplorer IIIYou're going to find plenty of campgrounds along number 16 there is also fuel in every town along the way.
If you look at Allstay's or Trucker Path you will see all the fuel stops and c/g's. Just be aware that in many places there is only one campground per town, summer is a popular time for camping in that part of the country and if you don't have reservations you may be out of luck.
