- TripleEExplorerThought I would update this. We decided to come south through Sumas. The signs said there was a 30 minute wait while Lynden had a 20 minute wait. Figured the extra time driving to Lynden (from Hope) would be a wash. We decided to time it when we got in line. We were in line for 1 hour and 20 minutes before crossing the border! Wasn't asked anything about fruits and veggies, just if we had anything to declare. Oh well, it is done and over with now.
- IslandmanExplorer IITake the Sumas exit out of Abbotsford BC, your rig will have no problems. After getting into US, watch for the highway signs that will eventually get you to I-5 just south of Lynden
- TripleEExplorerThanks everyone. We will be heading back into the US from Hope, BC and traveling down to Tacoma. I recall using Lynden, WA back in 2009 but had not used Sumas, which is where we probably will go through. The pictures on the net show an overhead at Sumas and I wanted to know if we would fit. We will be coming back on a Thursday so lines shouldn't be a problem.
- TequilaExplorerI live 2 miles from the sumas crossing, i go across there all the time, seldom wait more than 5 or 10 minutes, but you need to pick your time, & avoid weekends. Regardless it is the quietest crossing of the lot of them. As soon as you can receive them, tune to either 730 or 1130 AM. They have regular updates. there is also an overhead sign on I-5 just south of Bellingham giving wait times.
- ace44ExplorerWe always use Sumas. Lynden seems to be a longer wait every time we have tried it.
- wilber1ExplorerCheck times, Lynden is not 24 hrs.
- Linden is actually on WA 539
Sumas is on WA 9.
I-5 crossing is Blaine
Crossing varies on days of the week which is faster. Linden and Sumas are about equal. Yes, it depends on where you are headed. - Tom_BarbExplorer

Please folks, add province to your topic titles.
Some of us from across the country don't know which province.
Heap blessings upon Google.
Sumas is in BC. Maybe Lynden is also.
:C one dumb grey headed Maritimer.
Linden Wa. is the crossing station of I-5 Wa to BC.
Sumas is about 10 miles east of there, much less traffic, usually less wait times. - Tom_BarbExplorerThe crossing time are always better at the Sumas border station.
- mamestraExplorerSumas is certainly RV friendly, we have gone through this crossing with our rig. Where are you coming from and where are you going?
