An electrician should be able to wire so you have your basic 15, 20, 30amp feed in Mexico come out of the regulator so you just plug in your 50amp RV plug to the regulator outlet. We have been using ours for several years so I know it works. You will NOT get 50amp out if you feed 15, 20, 30 amp in - which is what we usually get in Mexico.
And that I did understand that aspect and it sounds like a good application for Mexico.
But how would 2 units be connected for the US 120/240 50A pedestal? For example if one of the units inputs are connected to a hot and neutral would you use only the units hot output and not it's neutral relying instead of the common neutral? Ditto for the second unit. Or would you connect the units output neutrals back to the common neutral? Or??? Keep in mind that the 2 units must supply the equivalent of 120/240 split phase to the rig because of the common use of load shedding that depends upon detection or not of 240V. Or even the rare rig that has 240V appliances.
A properly designed US 50A unit that correctly handles both high and low voltage could be useful. And one that also includes all of the fault detection capabilities of the PI HW50C could also be useful. Although I suspect it would cost well north of $500 which could limit the market.
