To try to clarify - the point of bringing up the A/C is not whether you use it or not - it is the purpose of the delay built in to these surge protector devices found on many RVs - even if you are not using the A/C but are using a surge protector you could experience the built-in delay - the delay is there so the compressor motor does not start while there is still back pressure that would cause the motor to work very hard or maybe not start at all. So to be clear - it is not about whether the A/C is on but about the delay your system may have built into it.
