I think that if you had solar with an automatic transfer switch and you leave your invertor on you would not see these interruptions. You would be powered by your batteries until the EMS time delay has ended. Therefore you would be fully protected all the time.
We do not even need solar. All our lights are on 12VDC so they stay on even if we lose shore power. The AC for most of our outlets goes through our inverter whether we are on shore power or using our batteries. But some appliances such as microwave and fridge as well as the A/C could be lost of we lose shore power. Of course there are many situations where the loss of shore power may not even be noticed or matter. But there are also times where constant power interruptions can be annoying.
