Using EZ pass from NY which allows my motorhome to pay only the Automobile rate My favorite route to that area is;
I 90 W to 271 South to 71 South to Louisville, KY and then 65S to Nashville for a day or 2 stop to seethe various places.
From Nashvile the Natchez trace to Natchez, Ms is a great ride. No commercial traffic PS campground along the way along the way.
From Natchez you have alternatives but I take US 61 South to I 10 then across if in a hurry.
If this route interests you I have variations to it that let me see the countryside and have interesting times;
Examples would be a day or 2 in Ohio Amish Country the largest Amish population in the USA and the way Lancaster PA was 40 years ago. Visit an Amish Auction that last most of the day and sell Amish goods, livestock and the time of year you are going a huge Morel mushroom auction (expensive as they are sought after by large restaurants from all over) then cross the street for a buffet at an Amish restaurant where the Amish will be eating as well.
Or instead of getting on I10 in Louisiana drop down to the beaches and camp on some of the beaches plus a couple of interesting ferry rides
