Tallulah Falls to Chattanooga

Hi,
We're going to be staying in Tallulah Falls GA for a few days and then onto Rock City Gargens to take in the beauty in each of these places. I'm not sure which is the best way to go so I thought I'd pose the question for the experts here.

I would like some opinions on which is the better way to get from Tallulah falls to Chattanooga, I looked at Google Maps and it gives me a couple of options but I'd love to hear from those that have traveled this area. The shortest route is to basically head north and then take US 64 west to Chattanooga, is this a difficult road to travel? I've never been to this part of the world so your in-put would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

  • Tomorrow morning we head out of Lakemont GA to go to Chattanooga I'll let you know Ivylog how your suggested route goes. I'm looking forward to it.

This is very beautiful country here! We went into Tallulah Falls State Park yesterday, wow that's one heck of a gorge!! I took the steps down to the suspension bridge (320 steps), that was pretty easy but going back up...... not so much. :E

  • Thank you for your info, I'll probably give that a shot, it looks good on Google Maps. :)

I would take 441 to Clayton, then 76 to past Hiawassee and then 515/69 north to 64. 64 through the Ocoee gorge is much improved and then take the 74 bypass at Cleveland TN (from the right lane) to I-75 south.
