We've taken it many times and find it very interesting but sometimes considerable traffic. There are a few campgrounds. Our favorite is Midway, in the Big Cypress Nat'l area but right on the highway. All paved sites and half-price with the "golden age" pass but water only at the site. Fairly small and fills but a nice no hook-up campground 5 or so miles west. The road lacks services such as laundry, supermarket etc. Around 100 miles between Miami and Naples.
Midway Campground is electric only, no water at the sites. We were there in January.
