The person that tipped me off to that plan is a Coldwell Banker agent. The office is in both the US and Mexico. All of the agents use that plan and are happy. I dug a little deeper into the Telmex rules and only found a few disclaimers. One is that you cannot use the phone as your primary phone in Canada or the USA. If you are using it NOB all the time they shut you down. The major US carriers do the same with their Mexico plans. You can get a Telcel SIM for your US phone if it is unlocked. Or you can unlock it for about $10.00. If you have young eyes ( not me) they have some off brand phones with smaller screens that are dirt cheap. My Lanix is 5 inches and uses Android 6.0. Comes with some apps. Lanix is a Sonora company but of course the phones are off shore. It came with a cheap silicone protector but you cannot get a good protector( Otter Box) for the no name phones. I figure for $1669 pesos I can just toss it after 2 years if it is scratched! Anyone who is using one of those Internet USB sticks might consider switching.
