Haven't been up 93 yet, but US 12 (Lolo Pass) is a beautiful ride. Some nice NFS CGs in that stretch too. That will bring you in north of the Columbia River, though. I-84 from the Pendleton area to the coast is an interesting ride - not all that attractive at first, but gets real pretty about halfway across Oregon. Some SP CGs right by the interstate that a lot of people seem to like (we didn't try them so don't know how the road noise is.) Oregon and Idaho have some really nice SPs.
Another route farther south would be to take US 26 from Jackson to Alpine and then west through the Palisades area, and catching up with US 20 in Idaho Falls. Take 20 (or I-15 to 20) west to Craters of the Moon Nat'l Monument. Neat little park, very interesting (it's the remains of a 2000-year-old lava flow). You can continue on 20 west to near Boise, where you can pick up I-84 west.
