I think it would be proper to toot your horn and give the guys a thumbs up when passing by them driving my not very fuel efficient RV. These are folks and equipment that daily go out and do the dirty, nasty, sometimes dangerous job of providing us the fuel to do what we enjoy. In that part of the country you're either a farmer or work in the Oil Patch. Their RVs in the campgrounds provide them a means of living semi-close to their work without having long commutes. Then they go home wherever that may be when they have some time off.
