You can get to I-10 before New Orleans via I-310. We stayed at Bayou Segnette State Park which is a nice park. I would back track to I-310 rather than going via the Westbank Expwy.
Another challenge is Mobile AL. I would get on I-10 and go through the tunnel.
I would get back on I-10 to go through Tallahassee FL.
How far are you going? South into FL or north?
