If you can, you might move your trip to at least April. The weather will be much better at that time. We were in a big snow storm on I-40 the end of April one year and the interstate was closed for 1-1/2 days. We sat in a very crowded truck stop. Weather is unpredictable but I wouldn't trust March if you have a choice.
Petrified Forest in mainly a short drive-through park so don't plan a lot of time there.
