Yes it is also Autopista, Carretera de cobro, Autopista de cuota. common phrase is te vaz por la de cuota o la libre (you going by the toll or the free).
The first toll road in Mexico was from Distrito Federal (Mexico City) to Cuernavaca, the next one was from Distrito federal to the City of Puebla and then from Distrito federal to the City of Queretaro, after that they expanded the routes and started more in the major cities, some are rather expensive for the poor state that they are in, and the fact that the cargo trucks and trailers tend to run over weight and tear up the pavement pretty fast, some of the "libres" are in much better shape in regards to the pavement.
