MEXICOWANDERER

Even a ferry service from Houston and northern FL to Villahermosa would serve -- but they would need to upgrade Yucatecan carreteras.
The Danes and Swedes BEG the sale of their used ferrys. Summer weather is an obstacle but a system from say Los Angeles to Manzanillo would also work. Train service is a loser because of the loading and unloading of only two rigs per flat car.
Of course freight would have to be carried as well. But why not offer passenger service and small cabins on all routes?
This is a wistful pipe dream. One of the BIGGEST obstacles comes from SAT SHCP Hacienda, the bane of Mexico. Customs. WHO would inspect rigs for inappropriate cargo at point of departure? I have dreams that the downtown Mexico City Hacienda skyscraper is actually built on incredibly unstable soil and a previously unknown micro fault suddenly throws a Hissy Fit.
