Best of Luck,
Bussskipper, I do hope you can get the link to work. I value your input. You've played a big part in past trips and hope you can in this one as well.
I'm a little afraid of the "push" this time. I haven't done long distance in a Class A and am wondering if we can make better time in one than we did with truck and trailer? From the few hundred miles I've done so far, I have a suspicion that we can. I didn't go past 62mph with the truck, but the Tiffin feels comfortable at a little higher speed. I don't typically push the speed, but to make those long stretches, 5mph can make a half day difference. As long as I'm willing to pay for it! It does seem I have to be focused more with the "A", but maybe that feeling is because its new to me.
OK got the link to Work - Really only a couple of comments - First if you could make these drives in the Truck and Trailer then this will be a Breeze in the MotorHome, so much so I'd think of adding 75 - 100 miles a day especially if you are Wal*Marting it out - just easier to drive, quicker to set up and Break down, who really wants to spend 3-4 hours in a Wal*Mart Parking lot. :)
2011 Tiffin Allegro Open Road 34TGA - do you have a Toad? If so what is it and what does it weight? Might make a difference on max highway speed, but I'm thinking just under 70 you will be fine. Most will just get 7 MPG's no matter what the speed - now going into the wind - that can get you down to 4.5 MPG's.
If you need to shave a day or two do it on the way home - from the American side of Glacier on home as you will likely make it back there sooner than the West Coast and Canada. I'll not even try to add anything as there is just so few days to Spare.
But - PCH - Redwoods on the Coast - Cities of San Fran and Portland - Olympic NP - IMHO Badlands is a Drive through Park not a two day stop - if you have the extra day spend it in Custer - Needles - Black Hills - Jewel and Wind Caves - Didn't really add just sort of reminders. :)
Only routing suggestion might be Trying to find a good local route around Atlanta as the construction delays appear to be significant - I avoid Oklahoma and I-40 as they gave always just beaten us to death. We try to get to Texarkana then Paris on the way to Santa Fe so you might just give it a look.
Like I said - you will make much better time in the Coach and life will just be a lot less stressful. :)
Best of Luck, -
